OEMs of Air Conditioners and Air-Conditioning Chillers
When you make industrial chillers for use in harsh and hazardous locations, you need robust compressors that will be safe for use in the explosive and flammable environments in which your customers will use them. You also need components that are easy to work with and which, ideally, we require that you only dfhfh ahmake minimal adaptations to your ordinary-location equipment to accommodate the hazardous environments.
To assist you in building your products, Andover Protection Systems, LLC makes its compressors tough and durable, and yet easy as possible for you to use.
- All models have been specifically investigated and recognized by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use in the hazardous areas for which we label them. As a result, you and your customers will know that they are safe for your application. In addition, by using an APS compressor, you can more quickly and far-less expensively obtain a listing of your final product by UL or another National-Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) than you could without UL’s prior approval. One benefit is that you avoid the time and cost of testing of the compressor that you use against the applicable standards.
- APS can offer you a variety of approved compressors, thereby enabling you to make units with different cooling capacities and ones that run on different voltages and frequencies (HZ) to enable you to expand your markets internationally and into new applications.
- By eliminating the use of open compressors, APS reduces the size, weight, leaks, belts, noise and maintenance of your products. APS also eliminates the need for the alternative of housing the compressor and pressurizing the space with clean air or nitrogen—and the risks that the pressurization might fail at a critical moment.
- APS offers compressors that work with virtually all types of refrigerants and their oils.
- Perhaps most important, since APS makes its compressors by working with existing hermetically-sealed refrigeration compressors and has more than 1000 base models to choose from, our compressors often fit into your equipment designed for ordinary locations with only a minimum of accommodation. Since the changes that APS makes in the base compressors do not affect their performance, you can often tell us the compressors that you would ordinarily use in your air conditioner or condensing unit, and we will be able to provide adapted for the hazardous areas in which your customer want to use them.
- Since single-unit air conditioners—most commonly through-the-wall, roof-mount and vertical (wall-mount) units—in almost no cases meet the requirements of UL, NEC and other standards for separating and isolating the evaporating and condensing sections of the air conditioner from each other sufficiently to allow the two sections to be classified differently, APS compressors can help a manufacturer meet the requirements of the more-hazardous zones relatively easily.
